The Perigord, also known as the land of the prehistoric man, is divided in four colours: white, purple, green and black. Les Hauts de Ratebout is part of the black Perigord, black because of the presence of truffles. The region is known for its riches of folklore history and architecture, and in the vallies of the Vézère and the Dordogne you can find about 60 prehistoric sites, some of them with international fame. Places like Sarlat, Lascaux, Les Eyzies and Terrasson are all surrounded by this beautiful landscape that is practically untouched throughout the centuries. You can also visit one of the many medieval castles; Beynac, Castlenaud and Les Milandes are a few of the "chateaux" that have opened there doors to the public. With family or good friends you can enjoy an unconcerned holiday and the campsite is an ideal point from where to discover this special region with its rich history and well renowned gastronomy.

By road: Coming from the south (Toulouse) or north (Paris) on the A20: Take exit 55 Souillac, follow the D703 via Sarlat to Siorac en Perigord. On the roundabout in Siorac you turn left onto the D710 direction Belves. On the next roundabout you stay on the D710 direction Fumel. Then you turn left onto the D54. On the D54 you turn left at the sign Les Hauts de Ratebout. Coming from the west (A10 Bordeaux): Arriving at Bordeaux you take the A89 via Libourne to Perigueux. Take the exit "Perigueux, aire le Manoire" and then follow the D710. Follow the D710 via Le Bugue, Le Buisson and Siorac to Belves. At the roundabout of Belves you stay on the D710 direction Fumel. Then you turn left onto the D54. On the D54 you turn left at the sign Les Hauts de Ratebout.
By train: Train station of Belves at 7 km
By plane: Airport of Bergerac at 60 km (car rental present)
